We are a week into 2020 and mTypewriterany people will have made a New Year Resolution – every year millions of people make promises to themselves in the hope that it will make them happier but often end up frustrated and unhappy due to the unnecessary pressure they have put themselves under.

Here are some of the top ones:

Get fit,
Lose weight,
Eat healthy.

Do any of these look familiar? How are these going for you? Are these things more difficult for you, for instance if you have chronic health issues?

New Year is a time to reflect on your life, as one year ends and another begins, we commit to these repetitive resolutions in the hope they will transform us. Not only do many people find these hard to maintain, some of these can make us even more unhappy trying to achieve them, in turn our self-esteem can start to plummet and we feel like we’ve failed.

So how can we turn this on it’s head, how about we start something revolutionary and even more life changing? Can we turn 2020 into a commitment of self-care, self-compassion, self-acceptance and prioritise our well-being in a more loving way?

Don’t know where to start?

In the coming weeks and months on Facebook and Twitter, I will be sharing tips on how to put this into practice, some of it might be new to you or you might simply be out of practice, hopefully together we can change the way you think about yourself.
